about the author

At a very young age, Corina had an optimistic outlook, sought out the comfort and affection of animals, as well as the support of friends and family.  Corina was frequently observed cuddling, with or reading to her cats, dogs, hamsters or rabbits.

In 2013, Corina began to train her first therapy dog Misty.  Misty was a Golden Retriever who taught Corina the importance of recognizing a dog’s intuition and the powerful benefits that a therapy dog can offer to people of all ages.  Corina knew that Misty came into her life to be a conduit to give comfort and support to everyone!  It was a sad day when, five years later, Misty passed away from cancer at 9 years old.

It wasn’t until 2020 when Corina got Oakley as an 8 week old puppy.  Oakley was a sassy girl for sure.  She was far different from soft and gentle Misty.  Oakley was nick named Miss Sassy Pants for a reason… Oakley’s funny expressions, silly antics, and a great love of children inspired Corina to write her first book Oakley’s Therapy Dog Adventures -Learning my new job

Oakley continues to delight and encourage Miss Corina to carry on the Oakley’s Therapy Dog Adventure book series with her contribution of real life scenarios and silliness.  Look for upcoming books: Learning to read at School, Going to the Dentist, Hospitals can be scary, and Library Fun.

about the author

Corina first developed a passion for reading as a means of escaping the difficulties in her childhood home.

‌Corina grew up in a small town in Eastern Washington with her sister throughout the 70’s. There was barely enough money to get by. Her mother battled mental diseases and depression, while her father was a functioning, abusive alcoholic.

‌Corina overcame these hardships and difficult situations in a number of ways. At a young age she started writing in her journal “Are you there DREF?” as a way to escape and dream of a world of happiness and love. Corina was a voracious reader as well. Most books included messages where love conquered all.
